Great shoe Review by Rob

I bought this for several reasons, it was in sale, it has good grip and it seemed ideal for what I was after.
By no means a full time runner a few times a year I do a few races up Cannock chase and also run the conquor Excalibur every year which is a great race for a great cause, last year saw me set a record for one down hill section but sadly this was because I went down on my backside as the shoes I had did not have great grip.
This year I am going prepared, the races I do knacker your shoes so why would you want to run in a £100 pair which will probably be destroyed after 3 races?
I had a slight problem with the shoes I received after finding a fault. Start fitness were great, nearing never used them before they were apologetic, asked for photos and once received arranged an immediate replacement which arrived quickly.
I would go a size up when ordering these and they are slitly narrower than some shoes but then I do have hobbit feet.
Not yet used in anger but looking forward to putting them to the test. (Posted on 07/09/2016)
Great Orienteering shoes Review by MARTYN

Amazing value, about 1/3 the price of comparable orienteering shoes, good aggressive tread. Fabric can catch on undergrowth, but same for any fabric shoe. Go for next size up to get a good fit.

Unlike some of the other reviews, I found the sizing was quite generous. However, with 2 pairs of socks they were perfect. I did a 15 mile cross country race having only worn them for a couple of short runs before that and they were excellent. when others were sliding around on the muddy slopes, I had full grip. The only criticism I can offer is that on hard tracks, they were a bit stiff, but that is expected I suppose with such ba sturdy design. I would recommend them.

Exceptional value at this reduced price, so much so I purchased three pairs in different colours. I found the sizing to be spot on - I am usually a size 9 but opted for the 9 1/2 thinking I would need a little expansion room. The size 9 would have been suitable. Non the less, these shoes offer stunning grip off road, though can be a little slippery on wet rocks. But then find me a shoe at this price that has fabulous grip on every surface. I use these for long distance walking off road as well as running. I would highly recommend these shoes. (Posted on 06/07/2015)

Best value shoe on the market Review by Joss P

Excellent value. Heavier than more expensive brands, and you don't get the plush cushioning, but in all other respects they are excellent.

I have very wide feet and even buying half a size up the toe-box inevitably splits, but the More Miles have outlasted all the competition.

I can also reiterate what others have found: their excellent grip coming down steep slopes of loose earth spared me several tumbles. (Posted on 21/05/2015)

Ordered and received in a few days. I tried them out straight away, they feel a bit odd for a few minutes, a bit like walking in soccer boots, but got used to them pretty quickly, They're great on loose soil and grass, up mountains and especially down mountains, Great grip, just brilliant. I absolutely love these shoes! (Posted on 18/05/2015)

Really Great Shoe For The Money Don't Twice Just Buy Review by Steve

I bought these after much deliberation over whether I should spend more and buy Salomons or Inov8's. I read loads of positive reviews of these on fell running club forums and decided therefore if they rate them then they must be good and decided to give them a go.

I am very pleased to say that they are the best £20 I have ever spent, I can run up, down, over and through the muddiest of trails with so much grip I actually laugh with amazement sometimes and they also turn on a sixspence when a quick change of direction is needed.

Also as the front toe guard is quite high it stops a lot of the mud and water coming over the top until you are fully submerged. They are light, wash easily and dry quickly and are also ok to run 2 tarmac miles if you have to.

I seriously cannot rate these highly enough for their comfort and performance, plus in the Lime they look cool and much more expensive than they are! A* Well done MM (Posted on 08/03/2015)

I originally bought these to train in and keep my £100 Salamon shoes for races. However, I have since used these for 2 OMM events and a Saunders Mountain Marathon. The aggressive sole is excellent for muddy winter runs and they have outlasted my much more expensive trail shoes. They will not suit everyone, the toe box is a little hard and they are not the lightest. Then again, my feet have not suffered after long runs so I can't complain. They are such good value I bought a pair for two of my sons as well. (Posted on 04/03/2015)

Great value shoes. Comfortable and have excellent grip. I run a lot of miles and unfortunately they don't last long. In my fifth pair now and the uppers always split across the toe. However, they're cheap so who cares!! Excellent show ill keep buying them! (Posted on 24/01/2015)

Great value all-terrain shoe Review by Al McGowan

At £17 after discount, it would be churlish to complain about the price or value for money. I bought these shoes to replace worn soled Mudrocs, which I was very happy with. However, a couple of people in the Edinburgh hill racing scene had given these a go. I also use my fell shoes in place of walking boots, so I went up half a size to allow extra socks for winter.

Having done a couple of races and a long hill day (Mayar from Kirkton of Glenisla) in them, they have been fine. Despite looking 'clunky' they are light and feel good. The only small complaint is that they don't always grip on wet rock, as I found on the boulder slope of Stuc A' Chroin and lack the feeling of being able to very precisely place my toes I had in my Mudrocs.

Nice lightweight trail shoe with an aggressive tread. I like the bright colour of the upper as well. Initially I was sent the wrong size, not Start's fault as the size on the box was correct. Customer service sorted it all out and I will definitely be a returning customer. If you are into your sport and want good gear, at a good price, then More Mile seems like a good choice. If you are more into the fashion show aspect of whatever you do, then waste your money on one of the bigger brand names. (Posted on 23/01/2015)

Bit suspicious of these shoes at first as they seemed to cheap but what a surprise. I have worn them fro cross country as well as a 14 mile xc/fell race and I rate them as better than my old Walsh fell shoes. Comfortable to wear, excellent grip in wet and muddy conditions, I can't fault them and at the price an absolute bargain. (Posted on 23/01/2015)

This will be my second pair.
Great in mud particularly wet grassy/muddy climbs and descents.
My first pair finally broke last week and I had to run in standard trainers, wow did I miss my Cheviot More Miles. I had grow accustomed to the excellent levels of grip and confidence.
My last run was a 16 mile cross country run. Totally comfortable.
I over pronate slightly and these have been fine. Only minor negative is that they can be a bit slippery on tarmac but so are all the other trail shoes used in my running club.
I thoroughly reccommend these shoes. (Posted on 03/01/2015)

Excellent shoe for the money Review by Stu9560

Deep aggressive sole, great for soggy boggy trails and muddy fields. Not so good on wet and hard surfaces like pavements and tarmac, but that's not what this shoe is designed for. A bit clumpy and built for heavy duty terrain.

Sizing in my experience is true but slightly narrow; once I'd ditched the supplied insoles and put in my usual off-the-shelf inserts they were pleasantly roomy.

On my second pair now. First pair lasted about 300 miles through mud, sand, salt water, farmyards, you name it, and never got cleaned. Replacing because they started falling apart in the heel.

For the money, an excellent buy for hard training runs in filthy conditions, especially if you want to keep the fancy expensive fell shoes for races. Recommended. (Posted on 14/10/2014)
