This Transition’s top of the line flagship Sentinel and it doesn't get any better. Top shelf spec that isn't too over the top but gives you everything you want in all the right places. Suspension is everything, this build starts off with top of the line Fox suspension that allows you to tune your bike to your specific riding. Next, they’ve thrown in stuff like XO1 Eagle to help you up those big climbs, 4 piston Code RSC brakes for maximum control on any decent that doesn't fade, ANVL components full trim kit including CNC 40mm stem, 35mm bar and ti rail saddle that set your bike apart from the crowd. You can't forget about the cranks - SRAM’s Carbon Descendant model saves weight and delivers awesome power and stiffness when you are on the gas. Transition have finished it off with hardworking Stans Flow MK3 Team wheelset and 2.4/2.5 wide trac Minnion 3C tires that set the industry standard for the ultimate tire performance.

Speed Balanced Geometry

SBG ensures the bike maintains low speed agility, front wheel traction, and proper rider weight balance while actually increasing confidence in steep terrain and at high speeds. With SBG, a slacker head tube angle is combined with a all new reduced offset fork standard, preventing the front wheel from being too far in front of the rider. This improves front to rear weight distribution on the bike, which is often out of balance on long and slack bikes. One of SBG's greatest benefits is that it creates a confident steering feel that adapts to wheel speed. More stability when going fast, more agility on technical slow speed maneuvering as well as improved traction, control and confidence for any skill level of rider.

Take our successful GiddyUp suspension system, add one part increased pedalling efficiency, two parts wider sag range, and three parts increased small bump sensitivity, and you get GiddyUp 2.0HH. Incredible pedalling performance balanced with a superb neutral, comfortable and fun feel that we're known for.

We specifically tuned the suspension with a moderate amount of chain growth which is highest at the sag point and decreasing deeper into the travel. Because of this finely tuned wheel path, there is a notable increase in traction when climbing, without the rider noticing the chain growth fighting the suspension movement.

GiddyUp 2.0HH is extremely easy to setup and it provides excellent support throughout the entire stroke of the shock so you can use all your travel without worrying about bottom out. Designed to be active while climbing, rear shock climbing platforms are not necessary. The suspension remains free to smooth out the trail, improve traction and control without sacrificing efficiency. With GiddyUp 2.0HH you can focus on the trail, no remotes, levers or knobs. Just grab your bike and GiddyUp.

'It has a balanced riding position, great traction and isn’t a handful in the tight stuff. ‘The Sentinel really benefits from being ridden hard, the faster this bike is pushed the more you get from it' - Dirt Mountainbike

'The Sentinel is an absolute beast when it comes time to descend, a downright monster when the trail turns steep and rough. There are plenty of long-travel 29ers out there that can handle the Whistler Bike Park, but when it comes to tackling the steepest, chunkiest trails there aren't many that can match the Sentinel's performance.' Pinkbike

Ready to ride
Every bike from Start Fitness is fully checked & assembled before despatch and will arrive, almost, ready to ride. Each bike is assembled by one of our CyTech accredited mechanics and then packed into one of our custom boxes. Minimal assembly, with basic tools, is required before you can ride. Assembly tools are not usually included. More details can be found here.
Please note: Some bikes are not supplied with pedals. Manufacturers don’t know if you want flat or clipless pedals, rather than send the bike with the wrong type, they leave the choice for you to make.
This process has a lead time of between 5 to 7 working days
Unfortunately during peak times this may be slightly delayed. We will however, aim to despatch your bike as quickly as possible.
Making sure you are home
Once fully checked and boxed, we will contact you to book a delivery date. Our bikes are despatched on a next working day service (excludes weekends & bank holidays) for UK mainland orders, or a two day service to Northern Ireland and outlying Scottish areas. European bike deliveries usually take approximately one week.
Taking Delivery
Any mechanical or cosmetic issues need to be reported to us within one week of the delivery date. If you do not plan on using the bike straight away, we advise that you remove it from the box and check it over ASAP as we cannot be responsible for any reported issues (other than standard warranty issues) later than one week from the date that the bicycle was delivered.
First Check-Over
After a few weeks of riding (depending on riding style and conditions), a new bike will need a check-over to make final adjustments and to re-check all nuts and bolts. This is necessary as the bike goes through a ‘bedding in’ phase after which, final adjustment may be necessary. We recommend that this is carried out by a CyTech qualified mechanic. It is important to have these checks carried out to prevent any avoidable problems which may not be covered by warranty and to ensure the smooth running of the bicycle.
We can carry out the first check-over free of charge, at our Newcastle store (NE16JE). If you’ve had the bike delivered, it will be your responsibility to get the bicycle to and from our store for this work to be carried out. This complimentary check-over does not include any labour to replace worn parts or to fit new accessories.
All bikes must be booked in for the first service & must be clean or a £15 cleaning charge will be payable. You can book this by calling 0191 261 4191. Proof of purchase will need to be presented when the bicycle is dropped off for the first check-over.
Bike Servicing
Bicycles need to be serviced regularly, as a guideline we would advise on at least one full service per year and/or a standard service twice a year. If the bike is used regularly in adverse conditions, more regular servicing may be required.
