Santa Cruz design and build high performance bikes, everything from hardtails to 8.5” travel downhill machines. Their bikes are award-winning, critically acclaimed and ridden by the best. So, when they release the bike that everyone’s been waiting for, you know it’s been worth the wait!
The Hightower 2 has the best of everything. It’s super-responsive, loves the unpredictable and makes you brave and happy on the descent.
The Santa Cruz Hightower 2 has been updated with their latest lower-link driven virtual pivot-point suspension, that eats up all the lumps and bumps. There is 140mm of rear travel and 150mm at the front. Combine this with a 65-degree head tube angle and the Hightower is ready for anything.
The new geometry has made a big difference. 20mm has been added to the reach of most of the sizes in the range. With the head angle now at 65 degrees and the seat tube angle steeper at 76.6 degrees, you’re on a modern bike that pedals well and loves a lively riding style. The flip chip is back so you can adjust the Hightower to your mood or terrain. Raise the BB by 4mm for the tricky trails or if you want to run 27.5+ wheels. Lowering it will slacken the head angle as well as create a more progressive, bottom out resistant shock rate.
If you only want to hear your own heavy breathing, the Hightower 2 includes a noise cancelling chainstay protector, as well as a shock fender, downtube protector, tailgate guard and space for a water bottle. The final bonus is the refined cable routing that means better shifting, simpler installation and no cable rub. Santa Cruz want you to have great faith in their products. There’s a lifetime frame warranty, a lifetime pivot bearing replacement policy, and a lifetime guarantee on the optional Reserve carbon wheels.
Santa Cruz have shared their favourite components throughout the 10 models in the Hightower range. They all have 12-speed drivetrains, dropper posts, and tubeless Maxxis Minion DHR 3C EXO TR 2.4” tyres front and rear.
