Orbea Rallon M10 Mountain Bike 2019

Exhilaration. Excitement. Excellence.

Rated #3 in the Red Bull ‘Hottest Enduro bikes for 2019’ list, the M10 was described as ‘A reliable all-rounder’. It’s true, but it’s so much more FUN than that!
It does it all; a brilliant climber, yes, tackles challenging trails, yes but that feeling, that rush of downhill exhilaration that can’t be beaten.

‘If you want a rig you can throw into the gnarliest terrain with total confidence, line up and be competitive at the highest level of endure racing or occasionally mix it up and go for a big day pedalling in the hills, then this bike ticks all the boxes.’ BikeRadar

The wheels are 29” and it has 150mm travel. It’s enduro focussed and the carbon composite frame offers low weight and high strength. Orbea have a proven Olympic pedigree and don’t compromise on the quality of components. This bike has learnt from the rest. Orbea are so confident in it, you get a Lifetime Warranty.

You can really make the MT10 your own. Not only can you choose the tyres, wheels, saddle and handlebars, you can put together your own colour scheme and add your name to the top tube – at no extra cost (ask about delivery times)!

Key features

• Enduro/All-mountain geometry (65.5/65º HA, 455mm reach for size L)
• High modulus carbon fibre frame
• Fox Factory DPX2 Shock
• Fox Performance 36 Fork
• Race Face Aeffect Dropper seatpost
• SRAM GX/XO1 Eagle Drivetrain
• Shimano XT Brakes
• DT Swiss E1900 Wheels
• Maxxis Aggressor 2.50" 60 TPI Exo TLR tyres

Orbea have fully embraced enduro geometry in the development of the MT10:
The slack head angle ensures good stability at speed through rough terrain.
Adjustable geometry means you can drop the BB by 7mm and slacken angles by 0.5° with a quick rotation of the shock mount pin.
The long cockpit provides optimum balance and weight distribution.
The low bottom bracket lets you corner naturally with a low centre of gravity.
The long wheelbase enables good stability at high speeds.
The short chainstays allow great agility and manoeuvrability, especially at low speeds.
The steep seat angle gives you a better pedalling position even with the generous suspension sag.

Of all the materials used to build bicycle frames, carbon composites offer the most advantageous blend of low weight, high strength and ease of manipulation. What Orbea do with the composites – the selection of materials and how they are used – is key to the final result.

LIGHTNESS: Optimized layups and fewer frame pieces reduce weight. High modulus and high strength carbon are blended to achieve the best strength-to-weight ratio.

STIFFNESS: Single uniform structures are better optimized to resist deflection. By reducing the number of frame pieces, larger carbon structures are tuned to deliver maximum stiffness without weight penalties.

RELIABILITY: Eliminating bonded areas increases strength and relent-less testing gives confidence. The lifetime warranty assures your Orbea will be a long-time companion.

FULL CARBON: Engineering a frame that uses as much carbon as possible of course saves weight but it also contributes to the sophistication and refinement of the Rallon.

Rallon’s concentric boost suspension, provides unique freedom to our engineers to finely design the kinematics so that pedalling efficiency, small bump sensibility, suspension progressivity and rear system stiffness to weight ratio can be independently optimized.
A high main pivot point provides minimum pedalling energy losses at the same time the seat stays and linkage positioning ensure just the right progressivity for outstanding bumps absorption and ultimate grip and control.

The suspension provides just the right progressivity (10%) so that can be used with any of the air or coil specifically tailor tuned Fox shocks, ensuring every rider gets the maximum performance out of the box.

Increasing rear axle spacing to 148mm over the 142mm standard moves the chainline outboard by 3mm, increasing the space available at the bottom bracket. This doesn’t sound like much but means that tire clearance an be increased without sacrificing drivetrain clearance or swingarm rigidity. All of it adds up to more durability, nimble handling and a bike that tracks better through rough terrain.

The asymmetric/offset design offers unique advantages beyond stiffness and low weight.
The shock is mounted in a position that offers incredibly easy access to damper controls, and without a frame support in the way, adjusting progressivity with volume spacers is easy to do right on the bike. By offsetting the shock, the amount of vertical space required to fit the shock and frame support is reduced, leaving room for a tool kit and a 500ml bottle with easy left-side access.
The 12mm offset of the shock allows the vertical distance taken up by the top tube, shock and frame reinforcement to be compressed. The top tube is therefore lower for extremely low standover.

Ready to ride
Every bike from Start Fitness is fully checked & assembled before despatch and will arrive, almost, ready to ride. Each bike is assembled by one of our CyTech accredited mechanics and then packed into one of our custom boxes. Minimal assembly, with basic tools, is required before you can ride. Assembly tools are not usually included. More details can be found here.
Please note: Some bikes are not supplied with pedals. Manufacturers don’t know if you want flat or clipless pedals, rather than send the bike with the wrong type, they leave the choice for you to make.
This process has a lead time of between 5 to 7 working days
Unfortunately during peak times this may be slightly delayed. We will however, aim to despatch your bike as quickly as possible.
Making sure you are home
Once fully checked and boxed, we will contact you to book a delivery date. Our bikes are despatched on a next working day service (excludes weekends & bank holidays) for UK mainland orders, or a two day service to Northern Ireland and outlying Scottish areas. European bike deliveries usually take approximately one week.
Taking Delivery
Any mechanical or cosmetic issues need to be reported to us within one week of the delivery date. If you do not plan on using the bike straight away, we advise that you remove it from the box and check it over ASAP as we cannot be responsible for any reported issues (other than standard warranty issues) later than one week from the date that the bicycle was delivered.
First Check-Over
After a few weeks of riding (depending on riding style and conditions), a new bike will need a check-over to make final adjustments and to re-check all nuts and bolts. This is necessary as the bike goes through a ‘bedding in’ phase after which, final adjustment may be necessary. We recommend that this is carried out by a CyTech qualified mechanic. It is important to have these checks carried out to prevent any avoidable problems which may not be covered by warranty and to ensure the smooth running of the bicycle.
We can carry out the first check-over free of charge, at our Newcastle store (NE16JE). If you’ve had the bike delivered, it will be your responsibility to get the bicycle to and from our store for this work to be carried out. This complimentary check-over does not include any labour to replace worn parts or to fit new accessories.
All bikes must be booked in for the first service & must be clean or a £15 cleaning charge will be payable. You can book this by calling 0191 261 4191. Proof of purchase will need to be presented when the bicycle is dropped off for the first check-over.
Bike Servicing
Bicycles need to be serviced regularly, as a guideline we would advise on at least one full service per year and/or a standard service twice a year. If the bike is used regularly in adverse conditions, more regular servicing may be required.
