Saucony Type A6 – "Just what you need to snag that qualifying time"
A light and responsive racing flat that’s perfect for Neutral Runners looking to make the transition into competitive racing, the Saucony Type A6 is built to chase-down records, smash PB’s, and help you achieve that illusive qualifying time. So lace up, strap-in and ready yourself for the fastest ride around!
Built with a 4mm Offset, and weighting-in at a mere 147g, the Type A6 is one of the lightest up-tempo racing flats Saucony have ever produced; offering runners an incredibly natural fit and feel for barefoot-like performance and breath-taking speed over distances of 5K and up.
The shoe’s upper is comprised of two separate layers which are welded together to form a single, one-piece shell. On the inner there’s an Open Mesh Layer for breathability and comfort, while the outer layer employs an Exoskeletal Frame, known as Flexfilm, to deliver exceptional lightweight support. This dual-layer construction allows the upper of the A6 to be all things to all men; ultra-light, super comfy, and uber-supportive.
But what impresses most about the A6 is how Sauncony have managed to beef up the outsole without adding extra weight to the shoe itself. In-fact, even though the A6 incorporates a Blown Rubber outsole throughout, it somehow manages to undercut its predecessor, the A5, by nearly 20g. Credit goes in part to Saucony’s SuperLite EVA Midsole which provides cushioning, rebound, and durability at a cut-back weight.
Equally significant, however, is the Injection Blown Rubber Compound itself which offers improved performance and responsiveness despite being 33% lighter than standard rubber composites. The XT-900 Sole Pattern also provides ample grip in wet and dry conditions.
