The Fulcrum Racing 5 LG CX Wheelset has been brought in for 2015 with one purposes in mind. They have been designed with a slightly wider rim to facilitate an easier fitting of 25c tyres. This CX version has a double seal in the hub to keep the wheels from getting dirt and dust inside during Cyclo-Cross racing and during winter training, ideal for everyday use and training.
By using a 23mm rim which is slightly wider then usual, the result is better comfort, better grip and slower tyre wear. The wheel set also features oversized hubs with flanges for blade hammer-head spokes and sealed high-quality bearings ensure smoothness.
Other improvements on this wheel are the oversized hubs, which increase wheel stiffness and reactivity, double butted steel spokes with an aero profile to enable maximum aerodynamic penetration and a deep upper bridge on the rim to facilitate clincher tyre fitting. The rear wheel incorporates a new single-piece body which embodies the freewheel body and pawl carrier in a single component resulting in a considerable weight reduction.
- Rim:Front rim measures in at 24mm deep and 23mm wide which allows for better handling. The Rear rim is 27.5mm deep and 23mm wide which allows for better power transfer. Both rims feature a machined braking surface to provide a safe, powerful and adaptable braking in all weather conditions. This rim also features Fulcrums new wear indicator system so you know when the rims are nearing their limit
- Hub:High grade, top quality steel bearings with cup and cone construction which reduce friction and ensure consistent performance over time. Also has a double gasket to protect the ball bearing seats from water and mud, ensuring the consistent performance
- Spokes:20/24 spoke count with double butted steel spokes with aero profile. 2:1 spoke ratio on rear wheel, double the number of spokes on the drive side for greater wheel stability and improved power transfer in the rear wheel
