Product Review – Asics Gel Noosa Tri 11 Ladies Running Shoes
Triathlon is booming at the minute.
It’s always been quite a popular sport, mixing the best of swimming, cycling and running with the ITU World Triathlon Series growing in popularity and many participants completing the Ironman Race – one for the bucket list.
With athletes like Vicky Holland, Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, Gwen Jorgensen and Javier Gomez Noya leading the way at the top of the current rankings, and how well Great Britain did in the 2012 Olympics, it’s helping with the participation numbers, with roughly 18,000 taking part in 2015.
When it comes to kit, having not only the right gear is pivotal but at the different transitions, it needs to be easy to change into, with footwear a priority for the last phase of the event.
The Asics Gel Noosa Tri 11 Ladies Running Shoes are just the tool you’ll need to claw back the miles and see out the tough and gruelling run.
There maybe a few of you out there, who do triathlon for fun and to experience such a great sport – which is great! But may find it tough sometimes with footwear. You may have a good, solid pair of running shoes to transfer into after the bike stage but may not enjoy the fact of getting them wet or worn down with the combination or running training and then competing.
The beauty of the shoes is that it has so many key features that apply to triathlon running, letting T2 so much easier with the Elastic Laces, which allow to slip on the shoes much simpler, Perforated Sockliner enhances the drainage as well as breathability and the WET GRIP® Outsole, providing much better traction on slicker surfaces. Grip is everything!
Asics have of course, included their trademark GEL® cushioning system – which on the forefoot and rearfoot – to handle and attenuate a much greater shock absorption, particularly through the toe-off phases, giving much more movement through gait cycle. The last thing you want to be feeling while you’re halfway through your run is the vibration of each stride running up and down your leg!
Speaking of gait, the running shoes have Guidance Line®, a vertical flex groove that separates the midsole and outsole. It’s designed to keep a consistent propulsion rate during each foot strike, reducing the amount of fatigue and even injury, perfect for the latter miles and when nearing the end of the event.
Now, the AHAR+ (Asics High Abrasion Resistance) outsole has been revamped, adding much better durability across the shoe, so it delivers a longer life within each ride, the last thing you want is to have shoes falling apart after a few training sessions and competitions!
Like with all running shoes, or footwear in general, there’ll come a time when blisters will form and they aren’t half a pain and annoying! The material can share some of the blame for it, but the Asics Gel Noosa Tri 11’s have been made with a Seamless Construction, reducing the amount of friction the foot may undergo and any irritation caused that you may get from the stitched and seamed fabrics in other shoes.
In all, it’s a great all-round shoes for triathletes new and seasoned, who are looking to execute a better T2 while feeling their running on air almost, remaining comfortable for a long as possible over the tough running stage, no matter how many kilometres there is to go and the colouring is very, VERY snazzy!
